Dr. Gustavo M. Coutin
Dr. Gustavo M. Coutin is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Subsequently, he completed the LSU 2-year post-graduate training residency in general dentistry at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. He has since maintained his private practice in New Orleans, Louisiana.
In 1982, Dr. Coutin was honored by the city of Kenner, Louisiana, for his service rendered in identifying the bodies of the crash victims of Pan Am Flight 759. He has practiced general dentistry in a private practice setting for more than 30 years. In 2003, he was certified by the Peer Practicum in Implant Dentistry. The certification involved a year-long course of study in all phases of Implant Dentistry. In 2012, Dr Coutin successfully completed the Soft Tissue Surgical and Periodontal Applications course and was certified for Level I Laser Therapy by the World Clinical Laser Institute.
The Louisiana Dental Association named him a member of the 2014 class of LDA Stars to acknowledge his contributions and leadership.
He has served the NODA Board of Governors as the Membership Chairman, First Vice President, President-Elect, and the alternate NODA delegate to the Louisiana Dental Association Board of Governors. He served as the 2017 President of the New Orleans Dental Association. Dr. Coutin is a lifelong member of the New Orleans Dental Association, Louisiana Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. He also served as a member of the New Orleans Dental Conference Committee of the New Orleans Dental Association, having served as the 2015 General Conference Chairman. He has been inducted as a Fellow of the International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists.
